Cinema Other is an international platform for world cinema, where we strive to cultivate the discussion of underrepresented films, directors and topics. Our focus encompasses independent, arthouse, experimental and documentary film, and foregrounds those works that touch upon social issues including trauma, violence, marginalization and the effects of politics on daily life. Reflecting on film aesthetics, history and theory, we seek to acquaint readers with peripheral cinemas from around the globe, with special emphasis on the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Africa.

The editors of Cinema Other invite submissions of original research papers and articles on the art of world cinema. Papers should offer substantial contributions to the scope and philosophy of Cinema Other.

Suitable manuscripts are usually published within 2 to 3 months from the date of submission. Submissions are welcomed at any time.
