CALL FOR CONTRIBUTORS – Routledge Handbook of South Asian Criminology

I have been invited by Routledge (Taylor and Francis Group, UK) to serve as the Editor of the Routledge Handbook on South Asian Criminology. The book is intended to be a key resource for readers interested in the Criminological, Criminal Justice and Victimological Aspects of South Asian Region comprising of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri lanka. Each chapter in the book will address a single topic across the region. Individual Country chapters are highly encouraged. Topics can range from basic crime to advanced crime, all criminal justice issues, and special focus on victimological aspects. Also presentations that focus on specific problems related to the South Asian region are encouraged. Authors can be from any part of the World, but the focus of the chapter should be South Asia.
Each chapter should provide a comprehensive review of the issues, focusing on how crime and victimization is affecting the South Asian region and the efforts taken by the governments to mitigate them. Each Chapters will be 5000 - 6000 Words (including references), with a planned deadline of late December 2013.
Please contact me by email jaishankar@msuniv.ac.in with an abstract of 400-500 Words along with your biography of 300 words maximum. Each abstract proposal will be peer reviewed by two international reviewers for selection. After the selection of the abstracts the authors will be requested to write the chapters with a time frame of 6 months and then the chapters will be again peer reviewed for final selection. Only original contributions will be accepted and previously published works will not be accepted. Informal queries are welcome.
