Girl Museum is proud to announce that our latest exhibition, 'Home and Away: Girls of the British Empire' was launched on June 14th at the University of Melbourne. This exhibition examines the lives of girls during the British Empire through historic photographs and the colonial postcard, exploring the similarities and differences based on the girls’ location, class, race, and decade. We expect this show to be valuable to researchers of history, girlhood and women's studies, as well as art and photography.
