“The Quran in a World of challenges” is a symposium that will be held in Oxford, UK on 23rd September 2012. It is aimed at further exploration of areas such as: the Quranic foundations of politics and government as well as new translations and interpretations of the Quran. Furthemore Topics like the development of media coverage of the Quranic themes, the law in the Q uran and its relation and interaction with secular laws as well as the international law will be expounded.
The audiences are expected to be mainly scholars and intellectuals inside and outside the academic institutions who might be interested either through their work on the Quran or their brush with the Quranic studies though their other disciplines. These may include sociologists, political scientists, legal scholars and so forth.
