Panels from a Life: The Graphic Novel Memoir

What happens to the examined life when it is presented in comic book form? Our panel will consider the emerging genre of Graphic Novel memoirs from personal narratives to autobiographical journalism to more layered creations (such as *Maus*) where the personal blends with the historical. All critical perspectives are welcome so long as the memoir examined is (essentially) non-fictional. Please send 300-word abstract to .

Interested participants may submit abstracts to more than one NeMLA session; however, panelists can only present one paper (panel or seminar).
