A symposium hosted by the London Paulo Freire Institute and in affiliation with the International Marcuse Society. The symposium, Critical theories of ‘social representation and reality’, to be held at University of Roehampton, London, on the 21 June 2012 from 1 – 5 pm and to be followed by a wine reception and book launch of The Right to Higher Education: Beyond widening participation (Penny Jane Burke) and Women and Success: Professors in the UK academy (Kate Hoskins). Speakers include Professor Heidi Safia Mirza (Institute of Education), Professor Penny Jane Burke (Roehampton University), Dr Catalina Montoya (Javeriana University) and Dr Mark O’Brien (University of Liverpool).
