The Ohio University Undergraduate Journal of History recently released its 2012 edition. In just two years of existence the journal has published outstanding undergraduate work from students from Yale, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of North Carolina, Ohio University, and Victoria University (New Zealand). The journal operates on a rolling submission policy, but to be considered for the spring 2013 edition, articles must be received by September 17, 2012. The author must send an e-mail to ouujoh@gmail.com, including:
Name and school
The title of the nominated article
The article submitted in a Microsoft Word attachment
A one hundred-word abstract on the first page
Articles must conform to the following guidelines:
Between ten and twenty-five pages in length, inclusive of footnotes
Include footnotes and a bibliography in line with the current Chicago Manual of Style
Double-spaced with one-inch margins in 12pt Times New Roman font
Note* Please do NOT include your name anywhere in the document in order to preserve the anonymity of the author during the selection process.
Submissions are expected to meet high academic standards. Manuscripts must have an original thesis, be in dialogue with the relevant literature, and rely heavily on primary source material.
All manuscripts will undergo a thorough review by all members of the editorial board. If deemed necessary, the board may request that the author make minor or major revisions to his or her work before being published.
