Rethinking Demography Today: Constraints and Strategies

Call for Papers
The Fourth Portuguese Congress of Demography will be held at the University of Évora, Portugal, on 12th-13th September 2012. The Congress theme is: Rethinking Demography Today - Constraints and Strategies. The Congress is co-organized by the Portuguese Association of Demography, by the Centro Interdisciplinar de História, Culturas e Sociedades (University of Évora), by the Asociación de Demografía Histórica and by Società Italiana di Demografia Storica.
We invite proposals for presentations that are related to policy, research, and theory in any area of demography and population studies.
Authors should submit a short abstract of an original, unpublished paper. The deadline for submissions of abstracts is 15th June 2012. Each abstract should contain the title of the paper, name of the author(s), affiliation, and email, and summarize the content of the work, objectives and main findings. Abstracts should be up to 10 000 characters in length (excluding the paper title and the affiliation).
The Congress languages are Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and Italian.
Authors will be informed about acceptance of their paper by 15th July 2012.
