Call for Papers on Ottoman (Osmanlı) Studies
Dear respected scholars, academics and researches,
We would like to announce a call for paper in the area of Ottoman Contributions to the World. Selected papers will be published in the World Journal of Islamic History and Civilization (WJIHC) (ISSN: 2225-0883).
The Committee welcomes papers on related topics, including but not limited to:
i. Ottoman History
ii. Governance, Politics
iii. Education, Science
iv. Economy, Finance, Trade
v. Past, and Modern Society
vi. Ethnic Minorities
vii. Youth movement
viii. Modernization
ix. Religious Organizations, Movements.
x. Gender
xi. International Relations
xii. The Role of Khilafah
xiii. Legal, Judicial System
xiv. Military
xv. Waqf, Charities.
Guest Editors:
For this edition, we will have two guest editors:
a. Asst. Prof. Dr. İsmail Gündoğdu. He is currently teaching in the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Sakarya University, Turkey. He studied in Middle East Technical University, Sakarya University and obtained his PhD from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Turkey.
b. Assoc Prof Dr Saim Kayadibi. He is currently teaching in the Department of Economics, Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia. Born in Turkey, he studied at al-Azhar University, the University of Jordan, and obtained his MPhill and Ph.D. from Durham University, UK. He has recently edited “Ottoman Connections to the Malay World”, (Kuala Lumpur, IBT, 2011)

Submission of full paper : 30 August 2012
Notification of acceptance : 1 October 2012
Tentative WJIHC publication : March & June 2013
