The Programa Interdisciplinario de Estudios de la Mujer (PIEM) at the Centro de Estudios Sociológicos (CES) at El Colegio de México, in conjunction with the Red de Historia de Mujeres y de Género en México (REDMUGEN), is pleased to invite the academic community to submit proposals for the VI International Conference on the History of Gender and Women in Mexico. The conference will take place at El Colegio de México from March 13-March 15, 2013.
The primary objectives of the VI International Conference are: To provide an academic forum for the presentation and discussion of original research that opens up critical dialogues about theory and knowledge related to the history of gender and women in Mexico, and to promote and strengthen ties within the international academic community dedicated to research on the history of gender and women in Mexico.
The conference is open to scholars engaged in research on the history of gender and women in Mexico. Researchers who are in the earliest stages of their academic careers are especially encouraged to submit a proposal. Proposals from more established scholars will also be considered. Preference will be given to proposals from researchers who did not participate in the V International Conference. We will accept individual proposals, as well as panel proposals of no more than four presenters. In order to foster inter-institutional dialogue, panel proposals with presenters from different institutions and countries are preferred.
