The workshop is devoted to the theme of feminine migrations.
This will promote the sharing of knowledge and ongoing research on this topic, considering the diversity of approaches pursued, the methodologies employed and conclusions reached. We will try to promote the debate and to cross perspectives and different results of investigations. We want in particular, to encourage in-depth reflections and discussion of two main topics:
• Identification and analysis of interpretive themes and factors that motivate the current research agendas in the context of studies on women and migration;
• Characterization of the place occupied by woman in the history of migration and other disciplines, particularly with regard to the Portuguese case. We will try to open new theoretical and methodological approaches especially in relation to women in connection with the emigration country.
