Following the success of the first two Digital Economy 'All Hands' events (Digital Futures 2010 and Digital Engagement 2011) we are pleased to announce the third annual meeting of the Digital Economy community, Digital Futures 2012.
Digital Economy research is working to realise the transformational impact of digital technologies on aspects of community life, cultural experiences, future society, and the economy. In other words, how technology and its changing application is impacting and transforming society.
This two and half day event will include keynote speakers, paper presentations, integrated workshops, demonstrations and posters. For the first time there will also be a dedicated exhibition space, showcasing the work of the Digital Economy community.
Presentations will focus on any aspect of the Digital Economy; topics may include, but are not limited to:
* Healthcare
* Connected Home & Community
* Creative Industries
* Transport
* Energy
* Digital Inclusion
* New Economic Models
* IT as a Utility
* Sustainable Society
* Communities & Culture
* Trust, Security & Privacy
* Evaluations of Impact
This year the conference has a particular focus on Disruptive Innovation. In other words, how technology and its changing application is transforming society.
Creation of a community in the UK that is capable of world class, leading research in the Digital Economy area is a key aim of the Digital Economy Theme. The All Hands Meeting is a key event designed to encourage the development of this community.
