In anticipation of the 44th NeMLA convention, to be held next year in Boston, Massachusetts, this panel invites contributions from Portuguese instructors who have done research on applied linguistics to Portuguese as a foreign language. Topics may include, but are not restricted to, teaching Portuguese to Spanish speakers, developing Portuguese teaching materials, creating and maintaining Portuguese programs, dealing with dialectation in Portuguese speaking-countries, teaching Portuguese through content and/or task-based methodologies, Portuguese language assessment and developing study abroad programs. Please submit a brief biography and a 250-500-word proposal about Portuguese linguistics to Ana Paula Huback at aph2129@columbia.edu. Abstracts should be submitted in English.
