The ASCA 2013 international workshop and conference concentrates on notions of mobility, culture, and concepts through the themes of associations, demarcations, and transformations.
Confirmed speakers include: Sara Ahmed, Judith Butler, Eva Illouz, and Engin Isin.
Through engagement with critical theory, we urge questions of the imaginary and political consequences of the ways in which various cultures establish links between, on the one hand, notions of progress, revolution, integration, economic development, ageing, or healing, and, on the other hand, nomadism, border-crossing, migration, or commuting.
The workshop will take place from 17-19 April 2013 at the University of Amsterdam.
