The 19th Australasian Irish Studies conference takes place between 7 and 10 November 2012 at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand.
The conference title is Global Ireland. Papers from various disciplinary angles in Irish Studies are welcome from both academics and other researchers across a variety of themes. The multidisciplinary character of the conference is reflected in the choice of keynote speakers with expertise in history, literature, economics, and sociology.
Confirmed keynote speakers are:
• Professor Rónán McDonald (University of New South Wales)
• Professor Cormac Ó Gráda (University College Dublin)
• Dr Louise Ryan (Middlesex University)
• Professor Graham Walker (Queen's University Belfast)
Proposals for papers and panels should include a title, abstract, and brief biographical information (including institutional affiliation and contact details) and be submitted before the deadline of 18 May 2012 to the conference organiser, Professor Angela McCarthy, email irishconf2012@otago.ac.nz.
