The Second International Law Conference on Women and Children is the meeting point for policy makers, researchers, representatives of community organisations, and academics within and outside the country to work together towards the inclusion of women and children in discussions on Sustainable Development in Nigeria.
The 2012 Conference will take place from July 19 – 20, 2012 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Lagos.
PLENARY SPEAKERS
Prof. Adeyinka Laninhun, Department of Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan, Nigeria
Prof. Emevwo Anselm Biakolo, School of Media and Communication (SMC), Pan-African University, Nigeria
Abstracts for this conference will consider but are not limited to the following sub-themes related to discussions on Sustainable Development with focus on WOMEN AND CHILDREN:
•An integrated approach to Sustainable Development: Benefits and Flaws;
•Exploring the Gender equality and inclusion lenses;
•Poverty, development programmes, policy frameworks, exploitation and debates on Sustainable Development;
•Local and international organisations and Sustainable Development
•Sustainable Development and the inclusion of women and children- challenges and possibilities;
•Sustainable Development and protecting the interests of children: Exploring strategies;
•Do women jeopardise their inclusion in the discourse on Sustainable Development?
•Factors that limit the contribution of women and children to discussions on Sustainable Development;
•The Nigerian Constitution, Women, Children and Sustainable Development;
•Integrating culture and socio-economic factors in frameworks for Sustainable Development
In addition to plenary presentations, the conference will include presentations by practitioners, policy makers and researchers. We invite you to respond to the conference Call-for-Papers by submitting a 250 word abstract and 120 word Bio on the conference website.
The deadline for Submission of Abstracts is: May 25, 2012 with notification of acceptance by May 31, 2012.
