The 19th Biennial Conference of the Asian Studies Association of Australia is hosted by the University of Western Sydney's School of Humanities and Communication Arts, Institute for Culture and Society and the Centre for the Study of Contemporary Muslim Societies.
This year's conference addresses one of the most exciting and important questions facing us today: how can we better know Asia in the Asian Century? It seeks to move beyond the scare stories that too often define the media coverage on Asia today, to construct a more positive, engaged language about Asia and the multitude of issues associated with today's rapidly shifting global economy.
