East-West cultural exchanges and the Cold War - registration open, program available

Program for the conference dealing with Soviet and East European cultural exchanges after WWII has now been made public. Also, registration for the audience has also started. Registration is free of charge.
Conference will be held at the University of Jyväskylä from 14 to 16 June. It brings together close to 100 speakers from Russia, Ukraine, Canada, Australia and a number of European countries. Panels deal with cultural diplomacy, tourism, art exchanges, everyday experiences, transnational networks, media, youth, scholarly exchanges and a number of other subjects.
Keynote lectures will be given by professors Susan E Reid (Sheffield U) and Aili Aarelaid-Tart (Tallinn U). Conference also includes a roundtable session committed to scholarly exchanges with the Soviet Union, featuring professors Boris Firsov (St. Petersburg European U), Marju Lauristin and Peetervihalemm (Tartu U) and Kaarle Nordenstreng (Tampere U).
Language of the conference is English.
