The next scheduled Pennsylvania Labor History Workshop will meet on Saturday, April 28, 2012. The two papers presented will be:
--Sharon Sidorick, "Silk Stockings and Socialism: Kensington's Hosiery Workers in the Jazz Age, 1922-1929.”
--James Wolfinger, "'It Was Nothing Short of War': Street Railways and the Spread of Class Conflict in Early Twentieth Century Philadelphia."
Persons who plan on attending can email David Witwer (dxw44@psu.edu) for copies of the papers, which will be available about two weeks before the workshop. The workshops are held at the library of the John Harris-Simon Cameron Mansion, on Front Street, in Harrisburg. Donuts and coffee are set out at 10 AM and the workshop runs from 10:30AM to noon. Typically our workshops are so constructive and active that many participants work up an appetite and so at noon some folks will cross the street to the Passage of India restaurant for some delicious food and a chance for more informal exchanges over lunch.
