Ohio University is proud to host the 2012 Council on Thai Studies (COTS) conference, October 26-27. COTS invites students and scholars of Thailand and the broader Tai world to submit paper abstracts of no more than 300 words to Jeffrey Shane at shane@ohio.edu by August 3, 2012. We welcome all topics and disciplines.
The annual COTS conference is an ideal opportunity to meet fellow students and scholars of Thailand, take stock of the current state of Thai studies, and exchange and test the validity of one’s own ideas and approaches to the study of Thailand.
The 2012 COTS conference keynote speaker will be Dr. Charnvit Kasetsiri, distinguished Thai historian and former Rector of Thammasat University. Associate Professor Chusak Pattarakulvanit, Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammasat University, will give a special guest lecture.
2012 marks the 40th anniversary of the founding the Council on Thai Studies. Please join us at Ohio University, October 26-27, 2012, to celebrate this remarkable milestone.
Conference registration is free. Discounted hotel accommodations ($99 Double/King) are available at the Ohio University Inn. Reservations can be made online at http://www.ouinn.com/. Free housing will be made available to students with advance notice. For further information contact Jeffrey Shane at shane@ohio.edu
