Contemplative Approaches in the Diverse Academic Community: Inquiry, Connection, Creativity, and Insight
September 21 - 23, 2012
Amherst College, Amherst, Massachusetts
Now Accepting Proposals (through June 1st)
Conference registration will be available soon.
The conference will explore the many ways that contemplative practices serve teaching, learning and knowing in higher education. While we are open to presentations on any theme concerning contemplative pedagogy, we are especially interested this year in presentations that consider techniques or exercises that focus on fostering greater inclusion and availability to the broadest scope of students.
Contributed sessions, plenary speakers and panels and will present research and support the exchange of ideas. Practice sessions will be offered to support the development of contemplative awareness and the community of contemplative educators.
Proposals may be submitted via the online submission form until June 1, 2012. All proposals will be evaluated by a peer-review process. Details about the types of sessions and guidelines for submission are listed with the form at www.acmhe.org.
A selection of session presenters will be invited to contribute papers to a volume on contemplative pedagogy.
