The Society for the History of Discoveries wants to involve younger scholars in our organization and is encouraging graduate students to apply to be presenters at our upcoming meeting in Pasadena, California this September.
To encourage graduate student participation we are offering a stipend of $500 to offset travel/meeting costs for up to three accepted graduate student/young scholar papers.
Presentations on ALL aspects of geographical discovery and exploration are welcome. To emphasize the meeting host area proposals on “Greater California” and the “Pacific Region” are encouraged.
Accepted papers will be considered for submission to the society’s journal, Terrae Incognitae.
The proposal deadline is April 15, 2012.
