For this symposium, there will be an interrogation of what constitutes the current
mode of arts practice through an examination of work produced by practitioners, community groups and young people. Questions about the use of the arts as a mode of regulation or liberation, and of postcolonial legacies of marginalisation visible within this practice, will be explored during the symposium and throughout the exhibited artwork. The intention is to discuss the past and
present modes of art practice and share the rapid developments and challenges
which individuals in the arts undergo.
