Call for Papers for Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association Conference (October 19-21, 2012, Seattle, Washington)
Panel Title: Panel Title: Inter-examinations of Captivity and Slave Narratives (Sponsored by the Southern California Society for the Study of American Women Writers)
Description: This panel requests proposals describing current examinations of dynamics, resonances and dissonances between captivity and slave narratives from all temporal periods and geographic locations. We have particular interest in narratives by women, narratives of experiences/events occurring in the American West and Pacific Rim, and/or narratives from racial and/or ethnic groups not commonly associated with these genres. Proposals of 300-500 words should be submitted through the PAMLA website at http://www.pamla.org/2012/ by April 22, 2012. For questions, please contact denise_macneil@redlands.edu.
