The American Studies Program at Chulalongkorn University is mandated with educating the Thai public on issues pertaining to the United States and U.S. interests, particularly in relation to the Southeast Asia region. Currently, the program is seeking working papers, academic essays, and dissertations for publication. Papers produced in either English or Thai will be accepted, and scholars of any nationality are eligible to submit their work. Proposed topics will be considered as they are appropriate to ASP’s mandate. The following categories serve as an example:
• Thai-U.S. Relations
• U.S. Politics and Society
• U.S.-ASEAN Relations
• U.S. Role in Asia/Southeast Asia
Final drafts must be between 10,000 and 15,000 words in length in order to be accepted for publication and should be provided as a Word document in A4 format. Submissions must be original and unpublished elsewhere. Co-authored work is acceptable. Graduate students are encouraged to apply. We also welcome shorter paper or commentary writing to be distributed in ASP Newsletter.
II. Required Documents
Proposals for papers should include a detailed abstract (including keywords for tagging), table of contents, references, and author's CV. Submissions missing one or more of these documents will not be considered.
III. Deadline for Submission
Submissions are accepted on a year-round basis. The deadline for the next round of publication is May15, 2012.
IV. Available Compensation
10,000 THB (approximately 320 USD) will be awarded for one published document.
10 copies of the final printed work will also be provided.
