I am interested in proposals for papers for a panel about Downtown Abbey for MWCBS 2012, which will be held in Toronto from the 12th to the 14th of October. As the possible working title indicates, this panel might be comprised of papers covering several different periods, and might take up many arguments, including, but certainly not limited to, the uses of history; race, class, and gender; material culture; the culture of specularity; building the nation; the marriage plot; servant culture; and architecture.
