Registration is now open for Burdens: Writing British history after 1945. This graduate conference brings together presenters from the US and the UK to share innovative new work on late-twentieth century Britain and open up conversation on writing British history after 1945. The conference presents 4 thematically-organized panels: Post-empire, post-nation?; Against decline: Looking to the past, imagining the future; Social identities and civil society; and The Politics of Social solidarity. Commentators include: Jordanna Bailkin, Becky Conekin, Claire Langhamer, Thomas Metcalf, Guy Ortolano, Gautam Premnath, Jim Tomlinson, and James Vernon.
