The Graduate Student Organization of the University of California Santa Barbara is organizing our annual 14th Lusophone and Hispanic Graduate Student Conference on Friday May 4 and Saturday May 5, 2012. The topic is "Tiempos de Cólera: Literature, Linguistics, and Culture in Times of Crisis." Discinplines include Spanish and Portuguese literature and linguistics, as well as Latin American/Iberian culture. Individual presentations should be no longer than 20 minutes, the abstract must be at least 250 words, and the submission is due by April 2, 2012 to ucsbgradconference@yahoo.com. There is also a $25.00 fee for presenters to pay upon registration. We invite and encourage all submissions from interdisciplinary perspectives written in Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan or English.
