The editors of "Recherches Britanniques - Société, culture, politique en Grande-Bretagne du XVIIIe au XXIe siècle", a peer-reviewed e-journal, are looking for contributions for their third issue on the theme of "Migrants, Minorities, Exclusion and National Identities in Britain and in the Commonwealth".
Subjects of interest could be: the evolution of the UK into a multi-ethnic country with an examination of demographic and policy changes; the birth and development of multiculturalism as a concept and a policy; the questioning of the definition of British identity; the specific situation of economic migrants and asylum seekers in the UK and the Commonwealth; the perceptions of immigrants and immigration policies etc. All perspectives are welcome as the editors encourage multidisciplinarity and aim at covering a broad spectrum of subjects.
Proposals for papers of 1,000 words in length at most as well as a brief CV of the author(s) may be emailed by May 15, 2012 to Gilbert Millat gilbert.millat@univ-lille3.fr or Philippe Vervaecke
philippe.vervaecke@univ-lille3.fr.
The deadline for the submission of proposals is May 15, 2012. Articles must be emailed by September 30, 2012. Issue number 3 of Recherches britanniques is to be online in November 2012.
