CALL FOR PAPERS - "What is the Pacific Rim?"
The Editors of _Asia Pacific: Perspectives_ invite scholars and graduate students to submit papers for publication in the fall 2012 issue.
The submission deadline is July 1, 2012.
The fall 2012 issue focuses on the question "What is the Pacific Rim?" The Editors seek both -
* theoretically-informed papers that explore the evolution and future viability of the construct "Pacific Rim" (notably, in contradistinction to related terms such as the Asia Pacific, Pacific Basin, Pacific World), and
* case studies analyzing specific linkages and flows (i.e., political, security, trade and business, educational, scientific and cultural) that bridge the Pacific.
The authors of papers received by the deadline, and accepted for publication, will be invited to participate in a conference at the University of San Francisco in October 2012.
_Asia Pacific: Perspectives_ is a peer-reviewed electronic journal published by the Center for the Pacific Rim at the University of San Francisco. The journal welcomes submissions on any issue of relevance to the Pacific Rim, from all fields of the social sciences and the humanities. In keeping with the Jesuit traditions of the University of San Francisco, _Asia Pacific: Perspectives_ commits itself to the highest standards of learning and scholarship. Papers adopting a comparative, interdisciplinary approach to issues of interrelatedness in the Pacific Rim/Asia Pacific region are especially welcome.
