Registration for "Transition in the Medieval World" is now available online and by mail. Please find attached a flyer for the conference at the University of York. "Transition in the Medieval World" will take place on the 12th-13th May 2012. This conference takes the theme of transition in its broadest possible understanding, seeking to explore, through the visual and material evidence, elements of the medieval which defy clear categorisation and offers the possibility for new avenues of thought around how the period is conceptualised, allowing for flexible, shifting and changing attitudes to the art, objects, places, ideas and histories which define it.
There is an exciting program of speakers lined up to explore the idea of 'Transition' in the medieval world as addressed in Art History, History, Literature, Archaeology, Museology, Theology, Philosophy and other related disciplines. More information is available at http://www.york.ac.uk/history-of-art/transition-medieval/.
