The Inter Litteras Research Centre invites all fellow-academics and researchers with a comparative streak to submit abstracts in English, French, German or Spanish for the 2nd edition of Inter Litteras et Terras:
the International Conference on Comparative Literature, Contrastive Linguistics, Translation and Cross-Cultural Strategies, to be held at Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava, Romania, September 2022 2012.
Compare, contrast, translate. Approach and question. Approach to question. The critical practice proceeds in a double movement towards multiple poles objects or subjects that are only accessible as text across the text. Essentially a movement across fields of forces, the intertext resists totalitarian impulses and totalitarian politics as it never allows privileged objects or subjects to ossify in a position of power. Host and parasite, the critical gaze is always prone to crossing boundaries, confusing reference, (mis)appropriating thus multiplying the voices of the text.
Papers are invited to explore intertextuality in its multifaceted aspects, possible lines of approach including the following:
haunts and hides: presence(s) and absence(s) in/of the text
transformation: repetition with a difference
plagiarism: moving across the text of ethics
intertextuality as discourse strategy
Text World Theory, Possible Worlds Theory and Cognitive Poetics
Text Linguistics vs Discourse Analysis/Systemic Linguistics
prototext vs metatext via intertext: domesticating or foreignizing?
intra- and intertextuality in literary translation
levels of intertextuality in translation
translation: inter(con)textualisation and cross-cultural practice
intertextuality in folklore/political discourse
intertextuality vs intervisuality
