"Royalists, Radicals, and les Misérables: France in 1832" is seeking contributors. The edited collection, which already has a publisher, will include up to 9 chapters focusing on three milestone events that occurred in France in 1832: a royalist coup in the Vendée led by the duchesse de Berry against the July Monarchy, the cholera epidemic in Paris, and the June Revolution (which plays a prominent role in Victor Hugo’s "Les Misérables"). Papers focusing on Hugo's novel and the theme of revolution are also welcome.
Interested contributors should send a proposal (no more than a page) related to any of these three events and a brief cv (or bio) to the e-mail address below. Completed chapters will be due in September 2012.
