The International Network “Multimedia Research and Documentation of African Oral Genres” presents the Summer School “African oral literatures: old and new media, traditional and new audiences. Fieldwork methods and training”. The Summer School, organised by the Department of African Studies, L'Orientale, University of Naples, is to be held 4-8 June 2012 at Procida (Naples, Italy).
5 Days Seminars and Workshops
The Summer School will provide an opportunity for intensive study and an invaluable experience for Master and PhD students who will have the opportunity to learn present key topics in collecting, documenting and studying oral genres thanks to workshops and seminars delivered by keynote speakers and international researchers who have constituted the International Network Multimedia Research and Documentation of African Oral Genres: Connecting Diasporas and Local Audiences. The Summer School will offer plenty of opportunities to the participants to discuss with the keynotes and lecturers, and to address issues linked to orality, technology, and collaboration with the local communities in their own work. Large space is given to workshops and training. In addition, lunches and dinners will offer a common ground for informal conversation and meeting with the lecturers.
