Following on from the Slow Media Manifesto of 2010 and the select material
which has responded around its theoretical framework, there is now a growing area of research focused on the broader implications of slowness in digital media. Whether it be through current arguments of Neo-Modernism,
Post-postmodernism, Slow Media theory and beyond, the symposium will
consider slowness through the cinematic image by probing the areas of, but
not restricted to, mobile media including tablets and mobile (cell) phones, digital cinema (2D and S3D), visual effects, experimental film, video art, VJ
displays, public art, and cinema studies.
