The Society for the History of Discoveries invites paper submissions for its 53rd Annual Meeting at the Huntington Library, 27 - 30 September 2012.
The deadline for submissions is 15 April 2012.
Presentations on ALL aspects of geographical discovery and exploration are welcome. To emphasize the host area proposals on “Greater California” and the “Pacific Region” are encouraged.
Proposals should include the following:
- the title of the presentation
- the author’s name address, e-mail, and affiliation
- a 500 word abstract summarizing the paper’s scope and conclusions
- a statement about the originality of the contents of the paper.
- a statement audio/visual requirements
- a brief biographic sketch/CV of the author(s)
Graduate students and young scholars are encouraged to apply. Three travel stipends of $500 each may be awarded for graduate student papers selected.
Accepted papers will be considered for submission to the society’s journal, Terrae Incognitae.
