UNC Charlotte - Graduate History Forum

The Graduate History Association of UNC Charlotte invites you to submit your paper for consideration in the 24th Annual Graduate History Forum held at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte on April 13th and 14th, 2012. Co-sponsored with the Graduate & Professional Student Government, we are proud to announce featured guest speaker Dr. Clyde Ellis, professor of History and University Distinguished Scholar at Elon University. Dr. Ellis is a renowned scholar on the Kiowa and Comanche and his books include A Dancing People: Powwow Culture on the Southern Plains (2003) and To Change Them Forever: Indian Education at the Rainy Mountain Boarding School, 1893-1920 (1996). We are honored to have him as our keynote speaker this year. We are also proud to have the Charles H. Stone Distinguished Professor of History Dr. John David Smith deliver the faculty presentation on the evening of April 13th.
We encourage both graduate and undergraduate students to submit paper proposals. Interdisciplinary approaches to any historical topic or theme will be considered. Submissions should include an abstract of 250-300 words and an eight to ten page paper. Please email papers to gha@uncc.edu by the deadline of February 20, 2012.
