The Journal of Pan African Studies is organizing a special issue to analyze the work of Yosef A.A. Ben-Jochannan.
Papers examining his books, articles and multi-media presentations are welcomed. Secondly, contributions should engage the following themes; however discourse will not be limited to the following:
Ben-Jochannan and the African Studies Committee of UNESCO
Ben-Jochannan teaching Egyptology at Malcolm King College (City College, NY)
Adjunct Professor, Cornell University
In Kemet: Tour Guide and Mentor
Nile Valley Civilizations: Before Popularization
The Original Jews: African People from Ethiopia
Ben-Jochannan’s personal library via The Nation of Islam
The Contributions of Ben-Jochannan to Africana (Black) Studies
Ben-Jochannan and the Advancement of ASCAC
Ben-Jochannon and African-centered Community Outreach in New York City
Ben-Jochannan and the African Origin of the Major Western Religions
Ben-Jochannan and the Education of African Youth
Contributors must send a 200 word limit abstract to runoko@yahoo.com by May 19, 2012, and their full paper by October 16, 2012.
All contributions must be original, unless approved by the editor, submitted in MS word format via e-mail to runoko@yahoo.com. The entire work should not exceed 25 double-spaced pages with a concise title, and standard scholarly citations (see past issues for format organization). In formatting, do not place page numbers or paper title (on each page) on the manuscript; place all end notes, footnotes and the bibliography at the end of the paper, papers in languages other than English will be considered, however they must also be presented in English, and all submissions must list your current affiliation and contact points (location, e-mail address, etc.). In regards to style (APA, Chicago, MLA, etc.), use what is standard in your area of study.
