The seminar provides a forum for works-in-progress that explore topics in American Indian Studies. We encourage the submission of proposals for seminar papers that examine a wide variety of subjects relating to American Indian and Indigenous history and culture broadly conceived. We welcome proposals from scholars working in a wide range of academic fields, and are particularly interested in interdisciplinary approaches. The seminar is open to graduate students, faculty members and independent scholars. Graduate students and junior faculty in the early-writing stages who wish to present work are especially encouraged to apply.
To propose a paper, please send a one-page proposal, a statement explaining the relationship of the paper to your other work, and a brief C.V. via email to: mcnickle@newberry.org. Please send all materials as a PDF attachment.
