We are working on a contracted book titled The Routledge Handbook of U.S. Diplomatic and Military History since 1865. We have already gathered a number of great contributors for this volume and are seeking additional contributors for the remaining sections.

We see this book being used in upper level or graduate classes on military or diplomatic history, with the potential for individual essays or chapters being used in a wide range of courses.

We are seeking two different types of essays, as noted on the brief outline below-historiography/overview/introductory essays and topical essays within the chapter. Below is the list of essays for which we still need contributors. These essays are overviews of the period and should include a review of literature. We are looking especially for established scholars to contribute the historiographical overviews:

The United States in the First World War & the Versailles Treaty: 1914-1919
The Cold War on the Periphery 1953-1983
Post-Cold War Conflicts
The United States and the Interwar Years: 1919-1941

These essays are topical and may be include new material, or new arguments:

U.N. Coalition Warfare during the Korean Conflict Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin and the Second Front in Europe

Essays will be roughly 4,000 to 5,000 words and we would like a full rough as soon as possible. The other essays have already been assigned and written. As this volume is under contract and a small honorarium is being offered this is an excellent opportunity for established and up-and-coming scholars.
