Call for Papers
The 12th Annual Meeting of the Department of History Graduate Student Association
Miami, FL, 30-31 March, 2012
The Department of History Graduate Student Association (DOHGSA) is pleased to announce our 12th annual student conference.
The conference theme is “Transdisciplinary Approaches to the Atlantic World,” highlighting the exchange of ideas, people and commodities between the Old and New World. Papers focusing on other topics may be considered on their merits.
We encourage a diverse group of participants to present their work and we are especially interested in papers which employ a variety of disciplinary or methodological approaches to Atlantic history. We are also seeking graduate students willing to serve on discussion panels.
All paper and panel proposals must be submitted no later than February 17, 2012.
Paper Proposals
Please limit your proposal to a 300 word abstract. This proposal should include a working title and a brief description of the topic to be discussed, including a clear statement as to the central thesis of the paper. Each application should be accompanied by a current curriculum vitae.
Panel Proposals
Please include a single page description of the envisioned panel topic. Each submission must include a panel title, a list of proposed panelists with their contact information, a brief description of the purpose and theme of the panel, a one-paragraph abstract of each of the papers, a one-page curriculum vitae for each panelist, commentator and chair.
Everyone selected for participation in the Conference must submit a final paper by March 09, 2012.
Send proposals and questions to dohgsaconference2012@gmail.com or visit the DOGSHA website at http://fiucampuslife.orgsync.com/org/dohgsa for more information.
