On February 17 and 18, the Atlantic History program at NYU will be hosting a conference entitled "Legends of Empire: Negotiating the Imperial Moral Compass." Jorge Caņizares-Esguerra will be delivering the keynote Phelps Lecture, "Silencing the Past: On Imperial Historiographies and Forgotten Epistemologies."
