Check out my new website about the United States's conflicts with the Barbary "pirates" from 1784-1815: www.barbarywarfare.com! It includes entries about the most important events from these conflicts, various primary sources, a blog, a link to my lecture about the Barbary Wars given at UCSB in November 2011, and reflections about the Barbary Wars in historical memory! This is a great resource for those interested in (or even teaching) U.S. foreign relations, early American history, naval history, and relations between America and the Islamic world.
