One or two panelists or moderator sought for panel for 2012 American Studies Association Annual Meeting, to be held in San Juan, November 15-18 for a panel titled "Marking the American Life-cycle: Faith, Institutions and Bureaucracy." Presenters from all fields welcome, and the topic should be considered broadly. Possibilities include pregnancy traditions, birthing practices and religion, miscarriage and religion, life cycle rituals, innovations in rituals, childhood and adolescence, the spirituality of Baby Boomers, death and dying, the work of chaplains in life cycle events, the creation of life rituals, rituals and consumerism, and more.
