We interested in putting together a Roundtable session on the body in comparative Soviet, East European and Eurasian history. We would like to bring together scholars in history, anthropology, and sociology who work in areas that intersect with the themes of subjectivity, the civilizing process, gender, health and hygiene, hunger and food culture, sports, and nationalities, or related themes. Our goal is to have an interdisciplinary discussion about the problems and prospects of approaches that focus on body as related to our individual research topics.
