37th Annual History Conference

This annual program offered by the Western Illinois University Department of History highlights a dozen topics of historical interest to anyone who enjoys or teaches history, current events, and social studies. A variety of topics including the fiftieth anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Transformation of Dachau, Female Abolitionists, and Choosing Sides during the Civil War, will be offered by professors of the history and political science departments.
This year's keynote presenter, Daniel Walker Howe, received a Pulitzer Prize in History for his work "What Hath God Wrought: The Transformation of America, 1815-1848." Dr. Howe is professor emeritus at both Oxford University and the University of California Los Angeles.
