The award-winning JENdA: A Journal of Culture and African Women Studies have published issue 19, which continues to feature critical, evidenced-based scholarship.

Issue 19 is dedicated to the three lionesses, Leymah Gbowee, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Tawakkul Karman. We also remember Dr. Wangari Maathai, who passed away in September after a long battle with cancer.

The editorial "On Tears of Sorrow and Joy" for issue 19 is free but registration to JENdA is required to read it.
