NCIS--an AHA Affiliated Society--will be hosting its first-ever panel discussion at the AHA Annual Meeting in Chicago. The session is titled “Scholars and Scholarship on the Margins: Independent Scholars and ‘Otherness’ in History” (see the AHA program, page 59 for details). Please join us and show your support for Independent Scholarship! Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers, Parlor F, Friday, January 6, 2012 from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
The National Coalition of Independent Scholars (NCIS) is a non-profit organization founded in 1989. Members from around the globe share a concern for the production of fine scholarship and for issues that affect scholars working outside of an institutional setting. Historians with wide-ranging interests comprise the bulk of our membership.
