The United African Organization (UAO) is a Chicago-based coalition of African community-based associations dedicated to social and economic justice, civic participation, and empowerment of African immigrants and refugees in Illinois. UAO has just launched a new website for its Africans in Chicago Oral History Project. The website houses interactive content such as maps, walking tours and photo galleries, which will help visitors engage with the histories of African immigrants and refugees in Chicago. The website contextualizes African immigrants and refugees' stories within African and U.S. history. We invite you to visit the website and participate in the project.
