The academic journal Meridian of Criticism invites contributions for the next issue dedicated to the topic of Literature and Technology.
Part of the scientific reality that constantly changes human subjectivity, literature itself is influenced by technological developments. Inspired mainly by new means of communication and data transmission, literature not only unfolds a variety of new themes, but it also generates new aesthetic principles.
In order to emphasize on the dynamics of the multiple relations between literature and technology, disseminated in different literary periods, we suggest the following topics that might be taken into consideration:
- cultural theories on technology;
- the impact of technology on various aesthetic movements;
- the technological imaginary of literary texts;
- the aesthetic and technological modernism;
- (neo-)avantgarde and the technological progress;
- Science-Fiction;
- Cyberpunk/ Cyberfiction and Postmodernism;
- Electronic literature and its genres;
- (Trans-) and (Post-)humanist literary scenarios.
Contributions on other related topics are welcome.
